Steam train, dream train! “Midnight” is a coal black beauty. This five year old draft cross gelding has the bone and substance of a draft cross, but is shorter in height, standing a nice, comfortable 14.3. “Midnight” has been primarily used as a reliable ranch horse. He has spent many days at summer camp and knows how to navigate rough, mountainous country. This gelding crosses water with confidence and ease, as well as downed timber, loose rock, etc. “Midnight” has trailed cattle to different pastures, through meadows, side hills, and even highway traffic. He has been used to doctor in badger infested country, at high rates of speed, and knows how and where to safely place his feet. While this gelding has made the mountains his home, he knows how to work in a pen setting as well. Side passing and opening gates, pushing cattle to the processing chute, etc. “Midnight” is incredibly gentle and fits in either a group setting or rode out alone. In a group setting he matches speed, making him the perfect candidate for a young or novice rider. Out alone, being ridden by a dominant rider, he will motor through a long and tough day.
