Big John

2016 Gypsy Cobb Quarter Horse gelding. Big John is 17hh of pure heart and kindness, he is a farm favorite. It has been an absolute joy having John around. He was born on a ranch in Montana, so he learned from a baby to cross water and rough country. John has been ridden by all levels of riders and is always honest and kind. He is the kind of horse that stays broke - it doesn't matter how often he is ridden. He takes his leads and transitions well. He will open and close gates, moves off of pressure. He is great for the farrier and to handle his feet. John will carry a flag. John had the honor of being chosen to carry the Grand Marshall Leo Teton in the EISF Parade 2021. He wore bell's and feathers and took everything in with grace. He loves attention and people and is happy to do any job, He has been to the branding pen, we have roped and branded calves on him and pushed cattle down from the mountains. He is good to haul - he will gladly jump in and go. He has baby sat many of the little bitty kids this last summer and was a favorite for them all to ride. We would come out to a half dozen kids packed on him from head to tail, giggling, riding him around with a halter and bareback and we would always know they are safe with him. John is a very special horse and you know it once you meet him.
