Tom and Rebecca Bercher live in Shell Wyoming and have a long history of owning gentle horses for their family and friends to ride. Tom grew up on a family ranch in Arkansas where he rode and started horses from an early age. Tom and Rebecca have spent the last 10 years living in Shell, riding and working cattle in the Bighorn Mountains. Tom is retired from the US Army and in addition to doing occasional day work, he starts and trains horses using natural horsemanship methods. Rebecca is also a US Army veteran and together they work with veterans and first responders using horses to help with PTSD and work related stress. When their sons were young, they spent a lot of time finding and training gentle horses to ride as a family. As their sons outgrew their horses, they found good homes for them. Rebecca is the "tester" for gentle horses. Though a confident rider, she does not ride anything that is not safe and she handles and rides both Holiday and Cortez with ease. Tom and Rebecca are both very proud of their first offerings at the Cody Horse Sale.
