Sit back and relax, while we tell all about “THE BOUGIE”
With a personality as large as the Big Sky State itself, this Flashy, Gentle gelding has a heart you can hang your hat on. Before Bougie came to us two years ago he pulled Santa’s sleigh at a theme park. He is well accustomed to all sorts of commotion, people, and traffic. Since then he has proven countless times that he is SAFE, Reliable, and extremely versatile.
Whether you want to saddle up for a Sunday funday trail ride, head out to a branding, hit the local English show, work in the feedlot, gather cattle or take the kids for a leisure ride, Bougie will take care of you!! He is a true in your pocket gelding. Bougie begs for your attention, and is known to appreciate a treat. He loves to be pampered and groomed. He is easy to bathe and really enjoys being blow-dried, we use the cattle blow-dryer on him all the time. If you’re looking for a rock solid trail horse he is the one! Deadfall, thick brush, and knee deep mud bogs are all easily maneuvered through on Bougie. He is well accustomed to his riders enjoying a beverage while on rides. He has no issues when you pull your thermos, and bagged lunch out of your saddle bags while on the trail. Bougie will happily ride out alone or with a big group.
Bougie has been ridden by ALL levels of riders, and has taught a few people how to ride. Everyone that comes over to go for a ride or help out on the ranch has been on him. He will help teach you how to ride if you’re new, while keeping you safe. He has been used on the ranch, where he has covered lots of country. He can drag calves to the fire, work the ally in the feedlot, and even bust up a couple bulls fighting. Bougie LOVES to work cattle. I have no fear when I saddle him up at 4am after 2 months of, that I will be able to step right on and get to work. With Bougie being Bay color based we have never had to worry about him with the sun. He does NOT need a facemask or sunscreen. Bougie is easy to catch. Walk out in the pasture, put a halter on him and climb on up. He loads, bathes, and stands tied. He wears a size 3 shoe and is great for the farrier. Horses with his temperament and personality don’t come along often. When you add in his stunning color and looks, he truly is One in a Million.
Please call us for more information. We would love for you to come out and take him for a test ride before the sale.
Bougie does have two spots on his upper part of his nose that do not grow hair. They are about 1/4" thick and can be seen in his pics and video's.
Also, over the Winter he did rub out a small section of mane.
