Sears, Brian

My name is Brian Sears. I am 41 years old. My wife, Merrilee, and I have four sons, ages 13, 10, 7 and 2. Merrilee teaches school and we live in Carey, Idaho. Carey is located about 60 miles Northeast of Twin Falls. I have worked for the same ranch in Carey for over 14 years. The ranch is a 1000 head cow/calf operation and also runs yearling steers in the summer. 100% of my ranch work is done on my personal horses by choice. Nearly everyday we use horses for some aspect of ranch work. Whether it may be for gathering cows, branding, calves, doctoring yearlings or sick calves, or calving, etc. The ranch has a very diverse country from the flat, rocky desert for our winter pasture, to steep mountain, summer pasture. The ranch has also provided an opportunity for my wife and boys to work right alongside me. I take pride in having safe, reliable horses my wife and boys can ride. I have been around horses my entire life. I feel I have been very fortunate to have been around very good horsemen as well. As the youngest of my family, I spent my early years cleaning stalls for my older brother's colt starting business. As I got older, I was able to move from the pitchfork to starting my own ponies. I continued to start colts all throughout my junior high and high school years. I learned a lot through these years, but always feel I can learn more. I worked for a reined cow horse trainer for over two years during college and learned a lot there, but I missed the cows and the opportunity the ranch gives to make horses a reliable partner. Through these experiences, I feel we can offer a reliable horse that is confident enough to do anything on and off the ranch. My wife and I love the ranch life and not only the opportunity it provides to raise good horses, but also the opportunity it provides to raise great kids. Please reach out with any questions. Thank you for taking the time to look at our horse. Brian Sears 208-539-7393.
